Service
The Kamikochi Baggage Delivery Service has been discussed as one of the possible considerations in the Matsumoto-Takayama Big Bridge project, with discussions taking place between the local community and the administration.
Up until now, in order to protect the environment, transportation of people and baggage inside of Kamikochi has not been allowed.
However, in response to feedback from tourists and local businesses, we have decided to conduct demonstration experiments since the fiscal year of 2023 based on certain rules.
This year, the demonstration experiment will be conducted with the collaboration of the Kamikochi Resort Hotel Association, the Ministry of the Environment, and JTB, with an enhanced implementation period and content.

To protect Kamikochi’s beautiful nature, private car regulations have been put in place so sightseeing is done primarily by walking. However, for those who are staying at an accommodation in Kamikochi, carrying around baggage can be quite difficult.
By using this service, tourists are able to spend more time sightseeing and they can enjoy the experience more.

Even on a rainy day, by using this service your baggage will stay dry and you can sightsee with your hands free.
It’s easy to slip on a rainy day, and moving with large baggage can be tough, but by using this service, you can move much more easily.

This service is only available to customers staying at an accommodation in Kamikochi.
We can’t provide service to those staying in an accommodation outside of Kamikochi or those who are in Kamikochi for a day trip.

You can drop your baggage at the Kamikochi Bus Terminal
as well as
your accommodation facility.
We are located between the Kamikochi Information Center and the Kamikochi Post Office at the Kamikochi Bus Terminal. Please come to our reception to use this service.

We can deliver baggage

and participating accommodation facilities.
We are able to deliver baggage to 8 participating accommodation facilities.To check which accommodation facilities can be delivered to, please see the section titled “Participating Accommodation Facilities”. It is also possible to drop your bag off at your accommodation and have it be delivered to the Kamikochi Bus Terminal to be collected later. Please check the baggage drop-off time for your accommodation with the staff there.

Please come to the Kamikochi Baggage Delivery Service reception counter located between the Kamikochi Information Center and the Kamikochi Post Office at the Kamikochi Bus Terminal.

Please write your name, contact information, and the name of your accommodation that we will send your bags to on the reservation form. Please hand us your luggage after paying the fee.

Please enjoy sightseeing in Kamikochi with empty hands.

Please go to your accommodation and receive your luggage. Your luggage should arrive at your accommodation at around 16:00.

Are there any types of baggage that you can’t accept?
The following items cannot be accepted.
- Cash, valuables, and expensive goods (roughly over 300,000 yen)
- Precision machinery (cameras, computers, tablets, etc.)
- Objects longer than 1.8 m or heavier than 30 kg
- Refrigerated/frozen products
- Items deemed too difficult to handle by our staff -
Can we specify the time that our baggage will arrive at our accommodation?
We apologize, but the time cannot be specified.

Yes, you can book online through our website.

Is it possible to pay with a credit card, etc. instead of cash?
For the time being, we are only able to accept cash payments from customers without a reservation.
Credit card payments are possible for customers who make a reservation even on the same day as the reservation. -
I have made an application but I need to collect my baggage outside of the opening times. What should I do?
We apologize for the inconvenience, but please notify us using the inquiry form below.

Is it possible for my baggage to be delivered from my accommodation to the bus terminal a few days later?
In principle, deliveries are made on the same day.

Is there a limit to the quantity of bags you can hold?
We are working hard to accept everyone’s baggage; however, we may be unable to accept baggage from customers without a reservation. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Are bags rested on top of/attached to the suitcase considered another piece of baggage?
Yes, any bags outside of the suitcase are considered another piece of baggage.

Can someone other than the person who left the baggage, like a friend or family member, collect the baggage?
We cannot hand over your luggage to anyone who does not have the baggage delivery receipt.

Is it possible to have baggage delivered from hotel A to hotel B without going through the bus terminal?
We apologize for the inconvenience but that service is not available.

After arriving at Kamikochi and handing my baggage to the baggage delivery service, can I go mountain climbing and have my baggage delivered 3 days later?
Delivery is possible, but because we are unable to hold your baggage, it will be delivered to your accommodation on the same day.

I made an advanced reservation but is it possible to cancel it?
Advanced reservations can be canceled until the day before the reservation. Please note, refunds will not be given for cancellations made on the same day as the reservation.
